The Eifelsteig takes you from north to south over a distance of more than 300 kilometres through the fascinating and remarkably varied landscapes of the Eifel, where variety is the order of the day.
Hill ridges and stream valleys are awash with colour in spring and summer as plants burst into bloom. You walk past, among other things, the circular Maare lakes in the Volcanic Eifel, the ruins of the castles of Manderscheid and the beautiful Kloster Himmerod. You finish beneath the imposing black-coloured Porta Nigra in Trier, the oldest and one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.
