I am Henk-Jan Geel, founder of Arctic Adventure. IPGA Polar Guide and expedition leader.
I give many lectures about my adventures. After a lecture, people would always come up to me, buzzing with enthusiasm: ‘Can I join you on an expedition sometime?’ was the most frequently heard question.
Eventually I came up with the concept of the "Expedition Experience": the real expedition experience, but without all the hassle surrounding it.
During the Expedition Experience you head out in a small group. With Arctic Adventure, I arrange virtually everything.
The group equipment such as tent, cooking stoves and communication devices is arranged. But the personal items are arranged too. Think of the sleeping bag, skis, boots, sleeping mats, sledges. Big investments that you no longer have to make.
This is how the accessible, fully catered expeditions came about.
