South Korea, the unknown Asia! Why go to Japan, but not to Korea?
Especially for a holiday, South Korea is still very much unknown, while South Korea is one of the safest countries in Asia. There are numerous sights that you can discover yourself during one of our individual tours by car or train.
Good and safe infrastructure
South Korea has developed into the fourth richest country in Asia. Whereas in many Asian countries, such as Indonesia or Vietnam, you would not readily get behind the wheel yourself, in Korea that is perfectly possible. There is also a good infrastructure for travelling by public transport, both within the big cities of Seoul and Busan, and to more remote places such as Jeonju or the nature areas.
Culture and nature in South Korea
In terms of sights, South Korea also has plenty to offer. The most well-known is probably the DMZ, between north and south, absolutely worth a visit. But do not forget to also visit the many impressive Buddhist temples, such as the Haeinsa Temple, where the centuries-old Tripitaka Koreana are kept.
And then there is the highly diverse nature in South Korea. The country ranges from green hills and rugged mountains to the more than three thousand, mostly uninhabited islands, but the versatile Jeju and the special Udo, with its (very) elderly diving women, are also beautiful.
North Korea: The most mysterious country in the world.
North Korea is the most closed-off country in the world, a mysterious and fascinating destination. But as a holiday destination too, North Korea has much to offer, such as beautiful nature, history, lovely cities and friendly people.
