After many years of experience within the travel industry, my passion for Suriname was the basis for the creation of Suriname Holidays in 2002. The destination is still relatively unknown to the wider public, and I am committed to the development of small-scale tourism, together with the local population.
My personal travel experiences in Suriname form the basis
The range of trips is based on my personal travel experiences. Through my annual visits to Suriname, I stay up to date on, for example, new accommodations and expansion plans. I find it important to maintain good personal contacts on the ground. I work directly with the parties who actually carry out the trips. This way, there is clear communication with short lines and I can arrange just that little bit extra. From the Netherlands, I call, message and email with the people in Suriname on a daily basis. This concerns trips to be carried out, more sustainable solutions, new products, renovation works and the most diverse wishes of customers who would like to plan a tour of Suriname. After more than 17 years, I have built up a stable and trusted local network with colleagues who treat our customers as VIP guests.

Tailor-made tours and individually composed trips
I offer a large number of authentic and adventurous trips, with something for everyone. The trips are always tailor-made based on the wishes and budget of my customers.
How about, for example:
A trip along the entire coastal strip from East to West, a few days in the plantation district, an introduction to the indigenous population & Maroon culture in the beautiful interior, a visit to nature reserves and a search for giant sea turtles.
An adventurous trip through various districts and plantations, a four-day jungle trek by 4WD vehicle where it is impossible to predict what will happen along the way. The perfect trip for adventurers and nature lovers for whom "back to basics" and "back to nature" sound like music to their ears, combined with a multi-day cycling tour to explore the district of Commewijne.
An active holiday in which Surinamese culture, nature and people are visited and explored by bicycle and boat, with a longer stay in the interior to fully immerse yourself in the world of the Maroons. A beautiful, varied two-week trip in which personal contact with the local population and straying off the beaten track are central.
I am also specialised in putting together individual birdwatching, herping and wildlife trips, which I arrange with highly knowledgeable local guides, all of whom I know personally.
