In brief, the rules for travelling to Thailand from 1 November.
There is still some uncertainty about the Thailand Pass app www.thailandpass.go.th (not yet online) and the Certificate of Entry (CoE). A CoE is issued by a Thai embassy or consulate.
The Thailand Pass system, online in mid-November, is designed to make the documentation process for travellers entering Thailand more efficient than the Certificate of Entry application.
Who can apply for the Thailand Pass?
The Thailand Pass is required for all travellers on the basis of the following travel restrictions:
Fully vaccinated travellers from safe countries, both Thai and foreign, may enter Thailand without quarantine.
Travellers need stay only one night in an ASQ or SHA+ hotel while awaiting the result of the COVID RT-PCR test taken on arrival.
Green Wood Travel expects one night to be insufficient and advises booking two.
How do you obtain a Thailand Pass?
To make travelling simpler, only a few requirements are needed to obtain a Thailand Pass QR entry code. The application takes an average of five working days.
- Passport.
- Vaccination certificate.
- COVID-19 health insurance certificate (minimum USD 50,000 cover).
- Confirmed ASQ or SHA+ hotel booking.
- Copy of a visa (if needed for a long stay).
