From 30 July to 22 August the Djoegan family visited Suriname. A trip that introduced them to far more than the capital, Paramaribo. Multi-day tours were arranged to Botopasi, Blanche Marie, Nickerie and Galibi, along with day tours to Frederiksdorp and Jodensavanne among others. The high point of the trip, the family felt, was meeting the Granman of the Saramaccan people, Albert Aboikoni. Not something everyone gets to experience.
The complete tour was organised by Gerard Davina of Faya Lobi Reizen, with his team in Suriname carrying it out: Clyde Windzak, Donavan Franker, Vivian Cruzen and Claudia Karmidi.
They stayed in Paramaribo at Guesthouse Amice, which the family rated five stars.
The family said they were grateful that Gerard Davina of Faya Lobi Reizen had made this special experience possible.
