About this destination

Åland is an autonomous, Swedish-speaking archipelago that belongs to Finland, in the middle of the Baltic Sea between Stockholm and Turku. More than six thousand islands and skerries, red granite rocks, fishing villages and medieval stone churches. You explore it by bike, kayak or sailing boat, and ferries from Sweden and Finland make it easy to reach. The capital, Mariehamn, is small and relaxed.
