South Korea, the unknown Asia! Why go to Japan, but not to Korea?
South Korea is still very much unknown as a holiday destination, even though South Korea is one of the safest countries in Asia. There are numerous sights that you can discover for yourself during one of our individual tours by car or train.
Good and safe infrastructure
South Korea has developed into the fourth richest country in Asia. Whereas in many Asian countries, such as Indonesia or Vietnam, you wouldn't quickly get behind the wheel yourself, this is perfectly possible in Korea. There is also a good infrastructure for travelling by public transport, both within the major cities of Seoul and Busan, and to more remote places such as Jeonju or the nature reserves.
Culture and nature in South Korea
In terms of sights, South Korea also has plenty to offer. The best known is probably the DMZ, between north and south, which is absolutely worth a visit. But don't forget to also visit the many impressive Buddhist temples, such as the Haeinsa temple, where the centuries-old Tripitaka Koreana is kept.
And then there's the highly diverse nature of South Korea. The country ranges from green hills and rugged mountains to more than three thousand, mostly uninhabited islands, but the multifaceted Jeju and remarkable Udo, with its (very) elderly diving women, are also beautiful.
North Korea: The most mysterious country in the world.
North Korea is the most closed-off country in the world, a mysterious and fascinating destination. But as a holiday destination too, North Korea has plenty to offer, such as beautiful nature, history, lovely cities and friendly people.
