Abu Dhabi

Pearl of the Emirates

Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, which means 'Land of the Gazelle' in Arabic, is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and boasts many attractions such as the 'must see' Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the magnificent Louvre and many other sights.

Head to the famous Corniche and enjoy eight kilometres of manicured waterfront with children's playgrounds, separate cycling and walking paths, coffee shops and restaurants. Corniche Beach is a beach park with lifeguards.

Also make time for the beautiful public beaches Saadiyat and Yas.

Don't forget to get out on the water while you're in Abu Dhabi! From wakeboarding to surfing and parasailing, from cruising in a traditional pearling boat to kayaking through our natural mangrove forests, from a super-fast trip in a speedboat to diving, sailing, snorkelling or swimming, the waters of the emirate are ready for you.

For all-round entertainment, head to Yas Island where you can tear around the Yas Marina Circuit - home to the annual Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Sit down for a cup of coffee or stay at the iconic Yas Viceroy, the world's only hotel on an F1 circuit. Take a spin on the fastest rollercoaster at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, splash down at Yas Waterworld, play on the only left-handed golf course in Arabia and relax on a white sandy beach.

And don't forget to shop: everything is tax-free, from luxurious and ultra-modern shopping malls with the latest fashion brands to small, souk-like shops where you can buy traditional perfumes, handicrafts, spices and carpets.

Also take a trip into the desert or, even better, spend a night there in one of the beautiful resorts.
