Denmark (Danish: Danmark) is a country in Scandinavia, in the north of Europe. Together with Greenland and the Faroe Islands, Denmark forms the Kingdom of Denmark (Danish: Kongeriget Danmark). It is the most southerly located of the Nordic countries and lies south of Norway and southwest of Sweden, with which it is connected by a bridge. South of the country's only land border lies Germany. The country also borders the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen (Danish: København). Denmark has a total area of 43,094 km², slightly larger than the Netherlands and almost one and a half times the size of Belgium.
