About this destination
Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands, off the coast of Normandy. As a Crown Dependency it governs itself and belongs to the British Crown, but not to the United Kingdom. The capital, St Peter Port, is a harbour town with narrow streets, and Victor Hugo wrote in exile at his Hauteville House here. The cliff paths along the south coast are wonderful for walking, and by boat you reach the car-free neighbouring islands of Herm and Sark. Ferries and flights run from England and France.
