Honduras, officially the Republic of Honduras (Spanish: República de Honduras) is a country in Central America, bordering Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. In the north, Honduras is bordered by the Caribbean Sea, in the south by the Gulf of Fonseca, a part of the Pacific Ocean. The capital of the country is Distrito Central.
