Malawi (Nyanja: Malaŵi), officially the Republic of Malawi, is a country in Africa that borders Zambia, Tanzania and Mozambique. Malawi is the current name for the former British protectorate of Nyasaland. Nyasa is the old name for Lake Malawi, which determines a large part of Malawi's borders.
