Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway (Norwegian: Kongeriket Norge (Bokmål), Kongeriket Noreg (Nynorsk); Sami: Norgga gonagasriika), is a country in Northern Europe. Norway lies on the western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula and borders Sweden, Finland and Russia. The United Kingdom and the Faroe Islands lie to the west on the other side of the North Sea, and Denmark lies to the south across the Skagerrak. The northern archipelago of Svalbard is also part of the Norwegian kingdom. The Antarctic territories of Bouvet Island, Peter I Island and Queen Maud Land fall under Norwegian administration, but are not part of the kingdom.
