About this destination

Antarctica is the coldest, driest and most remote continent. Nobody lives there apart from researchers at scientific stations. Travellers almost always arrive by expedition ship, usually from Ushuaia in Argentina across the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula. You will see penguin colonies, seals, whales, glaciers and drifting icebergs, and inflatable boats take you ashore at places almost nobody else ever visits.

Best time to visit

November–March (Antarctic summer)
