Fiji, officially the Republic of Fiji, is a country in Melanesia, in Oceania in the southern hemisphere. It consists of more than 332 islands, of which 106 are inhabited. The largest are Viti Levu, on which the capital Suva is located, and Vanua Levu. Neighbouring territorial waters are those of Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Wallis and Futuna and Tonga. Fiji has a fish-processing industry and tourism is also a source of income. Off the coasts of Fiji are coral reefs that are popular with divers.
