Micronesia, officially the Federated States of Micronesia, is a country in the continent of Oceania, which is associated with the United States. The country lies in the Pacific Ocean and is part of the Micronesia region. Micronesia covers the central and eastern part of the Caroline Islands group, with the country of Palau lying in the western part of this group. To the north of Micronesia lie Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, to the northeast the Marshall Islands, to the southeast Kiribati and Nauru, to the south Papua New Guinea, to the southwest Indonesia, and to the west lies Palau.
