Pakistan, officieel de Islamitische Republiek Pakistan, is een land in Zuid-Azië dat ligt op het Indisch subcontinent, grenzend aan India, Afghanistan, Iran, China en aan de Arabische Zee. De hoofdstad is Islamabad. Met een inwoneraantal van 233.500.636 (2020) staat Pakistan op de zesde plaats in de lijst van landen naar inwonertal. Pakistan maakte oorspronkelijk samen met India en Bangladesh deel uit van Brits-Indië.
