About this destination

The Falkland Islands are a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean, some five hundred kilometres off the coast of Argentina, which also claims the islands. Outside the capital, Stanley, the land is wide and empty, with white beaches, colonies of king, gentoo and rockhopper penguins, and albatross breeding sites. You get there on a flight via Chile or on an expedition cruise heading for South Georgia and Antarctica.
