The United Arab Emirates (UAE) (Arabic: دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة, Dawlat al-ʾImārāt al-ʿArabiyyah al-Muttaḥidah) are united emirates in Asia that border Saudi Arabia and Oman. The union comprises seven emirates, namely Abu Dhabi (the principal emirate), Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Qaywayn, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. The UAE are rich in oil, but this oil is unevenly distributed among the various emirates. Abu Dhabi is by far the largest in area and also possesses by far the most oil.
